Following the credit crunch of 2008 and the financial trauma of the last year, many residential developments (including two funded by CALMEZ) came to an abrupt halt. Our project managers, through CAL Homes, are now involved in building out both of these developments.
We have also identified a demand to create property development joint ventures to run alongside CALMEZ.
The developments project management team will expand to include a project management presence within the M25 area as well as south west England early in 2010 to further strengthen this aspect of the business.

Brian Wensley
A Civil Engineer who completed 20 years in Local Government, then joined Thames Water where his duties included projects from mains drainage to building control. Created Wensley Builders in 1991 (Building and design company) and completed various developments including Merriman’s Hill, Worcester and at Cropredy, Oxfordshire for CAL Homes Limited.
Joined CALMEZ in 2007 as Technical Director directly and also formed New Leys Limited, a design and project management company, which is currently project managing Webb Court, Bicester, Oxfordshire.
David Woodward
As CEO of Woodward Construction Limited built over 4,000 homes across Wales, the West Midlands and South West England.
As Chairman of First Step Homes, together with the Retirement Care Group, with seed funding from CAL Homes, build a large number of homes in the Midlands and South West England using a unique concept of shared ownership.
Recent projects include Riverside, Newbridge-on-Wye for CAL Homes, and the Wintles project, Bishops Castle, Shropshire (House Builder of the Year award 2008) and currently project managing a luxury homes developement in Dolgellau, Snowdonia for CAL Homes.
